How it all began...
In December of 1995, Dan Tryan tossed around the idea of holding a weekly auction, and in a short time the Longhorn Auction was formed. The first live auction was held on the first Wednesday in January 1996 and we were off and running with the selling of estates, moving sales, collection auctions, business liquidations, and more. The auction business quickly became a fun business meeting auction attendees and consignors as well.
A family run business...
It has always been a family business with the help Dan's wife, daughters, and a few grandkids once in a while.
The place to be...
The Wednesday night auction became the place to be for 20+ years with Dan providing entertainment before the auction started, singing old-time favorites....from country to 50s-60s. The auction house seats would be full of eager listeners hours before the auction would even start!
And then came time for Dan to retire...
At that time, Dan's oldest daughter Tina (who had been managing the Tryans Auction Center for several years) became the new owner.
The evolution of the auction sale...
With the new age of auction sales, the “online” auction method started to develop. The new concept was initiated and the first of many online auctions began in 2015. Tina’s online auctions have proved to reach 10 times the number of buyers and sellers than the outdated "live" auction standard of people gathering to bid with a live auctioneer. With over 6500 estates sold, Tryans Auction Center & Online Auctions has become one of the largest auction outlets in the Northwest.
